With experience in the two very different worlds of publicity and constriction management, Ellie and Juan Lamonaca used their respective experience to open their first Conserva Irrigation franchise location in 2018 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
The couple spoke to the team at The Landscape Professional Magazine to discuss what led them to franchise with Conserva, within the green industry, and how they were able to expand their operations into three territories covering South Florida’s Broward County and parts of Palm Beach, Florida.
One of the couple’s favorite aspects of Conserva’s operations is the increased focus on growth and success through mentoring. Their biggest mentors include our franchise coaches who have 30-40 years of experience in the irrigation industry. “Our biggest mentors are the other franchisees,” Ellie says. “All of these guys and women are always accessible.”
And of course, it’s not just about making money – it’s about being a beacon in their community. Juan shares that his favorite part about working in the sprinkler and irrigation industry is educating their customers on how their irrigation system can be better. “Obviously, we all go into business to make money, but it’s very special when you’re in a business where you’re also doing something to create a change for our environment,” he says. “Being able to do things that will help sustain our environment longer is our favorite part.”
Within the next five years, the pair hopes to continue to expand their reach in Florida, grow their team of technicians, and provide their customers with the water conservation knowledge and services needed for their lawn.
